HOLLOWAY’S WORLD INDOOR WIN EARNS HIM USATF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS

INDIANAPOLIS — Keeping an eight-year winning streak alive, Grant Holloway (Gainesville, Florida) earned recognition as the 11th USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2022.

Holloway, who set the world record in the 60m hurdles last year with a 7.29 in Spain, tied that record* in the semi-final at the World Indoor Championships and then ran away with the final to claim gold in 7.39. In an event usually decided by just inches, Holloway’s winning margin of .11 seconds at Belgrade was the biggest in the history of the World Indoor Championships since the inaugural final in 1987.
